About LexiFinder
LexiFinder is a word search and exploration tool for Scrabble-style word games. It finds words from a set of letters, checks whether a specific word is valid, and shows how words relate to each other: anagrams, extensions, one-letter changes, and more.
Who it's for
Scrabble and Words With Friends players, vocabulary learners, and anyone settling a dispute over whether a word is allowed.
What makes it different
- Search by constraint (length, starting letter, ending sequence, contained letters, or a wildcard pattern) instead of scrolling a flat word list
- See how a word relates to others: anagrams, one-letter changes, and words it extends into
- Compare a word's status across different regional and language contexts side by side
How scoring works
Scores shown on LexiFinder are base tile scores, each letter's point value added together. They don't include board bonuses: premium squares, word multipliers, and cross-words all depend on where a word is actually played, which LexiFinder doesn't know unless you tell it.
How word availability is presented
A word can be valid in one language or region and not another. Rather than a single yes/no answer, LexiFinder shows validity broken down by context: North American English, International English, French, German or Spanish, since that's what actually varies from one word-game community to the next.
Data updates
Word data is reviewed and updated periodically to stay current with the word lists it's built from.
Limitations
- A base score is not the final score of a board move
- Word validity can differ by context, so check the specific region or language you're playing in
- Not every word has a definition available
